October 12, 2010:
We are back in Texas. There were no major mishaps on the final day of the trip....other than the usual
indignities that are suffered when travelling by air these days. Weather delays caused our flight to be an hour longer
than planned, but there were no significant issues.
All
together it was an very fine odyssey through Europe and across the North Atlantic. And I am now seriously pumped up
about river cruising.
At some
point....but not anytime soon....I will go through the mass of photos that I took on the trip, try to select a few (hundred)
to turn them into a slideshow. If anything looks promising I will let you know.
In the mean time I am officially closing out this trip. And I wanted to
say thanks to those of you who sent in words of encouragement along the way....it is always nice to have an audience for some
of my ramblings.
